About Us

Compañia Minera Mimosa, S.A. (Mimosa Gold) is a privately-owned and publicly-registered entity in Costa Rica. Mimosa Gold is not publicly-listed or traded on any stock exchange. The primary holdings of Mimosa Gold are Mineral Concession #371, located 85 km west of the capital city of San Jose in the province of Puntarenas, 36 km east from the eponymous provincial capital, and 8 km north of the village of Miramar. (To see the location on Google Maps please use the "Location Map" link under the "About Us" menu, or scroll to the bottom of the page)

Mimosa Gold controls one of the largest mining concessions in Costa Rica at eight square kilometers. It was granted by the Government of Costa Rica in 1970 as a royalty-free 99-year concession, grandfathered under the former Mining Code, as a consolidation of the La Unión mining district which contained numerous historic producers. Noted among these properties are La Unión, Bonanza, Santa Rita and La Reina. Historically La Unión was the most prolific of Costa Rica’s three major mining districts. Further information on the past and historic production can be found on our History page.

La Unión and Bonanza are the primary targets of interest as they have shown extraordinary grades in the past, yet were never developed below adit level or fully along strike. The potential of this consolidated mining property, which lies 5 km NE along the same trend as the Bellavista mine in the prolific Montes de Oro of the Costa Rica Gold Belt, is unparalleled in the region.
